WFMW: No more resolutions

That's right I've decided not to make resolutions anymore. The point of resolutions (in my mind) is to put off something and then try to make it work. It's called procrastination. Which is my middle name, by the way.

So it seems to me that the problem is the putting it off part. Therefore, the solution is to do it now. I've made the mistake of saying "This year I'm going to. . ." lots of times. And it always ends the same way, failure and shame. But I think if you want to do something, start by doing something about it now. Everything starts with babysteps. Just ask flylady. Everything has a starting point. You just need to take an action.

Example:
Resolution-"I want to lose weight"
Action- Put down the ice cream.

Resolution-"I want to plant a garden this year"
Action- Get online and figure out how to do that. Make a timeline and get it done.

Resolution-"I want to learn how to sew/crochet/knit/etc."
Action- Check out Michaels or your local craft store and sign up for the class.

Resolution-"I want to read the whole Bible"
Action- Turn off the tv and grab your Bible(or laptop) and start reading. Here's a good system.

Resolution-"I want to blog"
Action- Get a blog and write. Be random. Nobody expects you to be awesome. You'll get better.

Resolution- "I want to (fill in the blank)"
Action- What action do you need to take to get started?

What's your action going to be this year?
